About Summer
đđ Available for Adoption đđ
Summer/Aria is a Siberian Husky with some special characteristics. When she first came to SoCares, this sweet girl was too terrified to move from her bed. Because she wasnât coping, she went to stay with one of our fabulous foster carers, Emily, and her family.
Emily noticed pretty quickly that there was an issue with Summerâs sight, and a vet visit soon followed. Summer was diagnosed with 20-30 % vision loss. Our vet says her vision loss is not progressing and is either congenital or due to early trauma. She still sees pretty well, but she does use her other senses more to compensate, eg. listening and sniffing.
Summer has just turned one year old. She needs a home where she can feel safe and secure, where there are rules and boundaries and where she can bond with her human/s to be the best girl she can be. Summer gets along with other dogs but can resource guard, particularly around food. She is good with kids over ten.
Summer is understandably timid in new environments, but she knows sit, down and stay. She doesnât pull a lot on the lead but is still a novice to the âwalkiesâ business. We are unsure how she is with cats. Huskies are not a breed for everyone and need lots of exercise and mental stimulation, so please do your research.
If you think your family would be a good match for Summer, please fill out an adoption application via the link below. Summerâs adoption fee is $300.00
