Dodie is a beautiful girl with a very sweet nature and lots of energy to burn. She has an infectious love for life, with her full-body tail-wag as one of her most endearing qualities. Her new forever owner/s must prepare to be licked at every moment!

As she is still young, Dodie continues to display some puppy tendencies. At her foster home, she spent many hours of the day home alone, where she would sometimes become quite resourceful in finding some ‘chew toys’ of her own in the back yard. Dodie will thrive in an environment where she is not left alone for too long – a home with a good routine and lots of mental and physical stimulation where she gets lots of attention and pats.

Dodie’s favourite things are: playing fetch in the back yard (preferably a large yard with plenty of space to run!), food & treats and playing tug-of-war to burn some energy before having some couch time with her human. She can be easily occupied with a chew / squeak toy or an IQ treat ball / puzzle, and her new home must have many toys for her to play with! She can get a little bit shaky at the beginning of a car ride, but soon settles in and tolerates them well – though be mindful that she is always very eager to jump in and out of the car even when she's not supposed to!

Dodie gets along great with other dogs however due to her bouncy nature she may be a bit too overwhelming for some dogs. She has been briefly tested with a (stationary) cat, and showed no interest however has at other times had her interest piqued by a cat running across the road, so unsure how she would interact off-lead. She has not been tested with young children however she loves to lick and may currently be a little too bouncy!

She is fully house trained, knows simple commands and at mealtimes she knows not to eat until she is released. At her foster home she has been sleeping indoors in her bed on the bedroom floor with no accidents overnight, as long as she is toileted prior to bed. She has started to learn to sit and stay at the back door before being allowed in. She walks well on a lead once she has adjusted to the head collar (takes a few minutes each time we walk), with no pulling.

Dodie doesn't tend to bark much, except sometimes she will become a bit vocal when demanding some of your human food, or when you aren't throwing her ball quick enough! She also doesn't like to be left outside for too long if you are home - as she loves being around her family and doesn't want to miss out on any time with her human/s!

Although she requires some ongoing obedience training, Dodie will make a great addition to any family willing to put in the effort required to teach her. She has a lot of love to give, and her beautiful nature never fails to put a smile on your face even when she’s being a little bit cheeky!
