Hello! My name is Fifimeow and I’m a beautiful black panther. I’ve had a bit of a rough start to life, but luckily have found myself in foster care with my mum and sister where I’m learning how loving life can be.

I’ve learnt very quickly that humans give the best head scratches and will come running over to them when I’m invited or when my other cat friends are getting some pats. I used to be very shy but I’m getting braver by the day. I am actually quite a social and loving boy and love to be around my family.

Occasionally, I can get scared if people move too quickly around me and may give a little hiss, but it’s becoming less and less as my confidence grows.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I love my kitty companions, I get along well with all the cats in my foster home and would benefit from a couple of other friendly cats in my home who can continue to help me come out of my shell.

I share my foster home with a small polite dog who I don’t mind at all. I would be very scared of a big boisterous dog, so just calm dogs for me.

I also share my home with a calm 8 year old human who respects my space. Young children will be too much for me. Older teens who can give me time to settle into my new home would be ideal.

Likes / Dislikes
I love food! I will let you know when I’m hungry and I’m the first to dig into my dinner. Creamy treats are also my favourite.

I love a head scratch from the people I’m comfortable with, I’m actually the biggest smooch!

I’m scared of loud people who invade my space too quickly.

My PURR-fect home would be with a calm family, experienced with shy cats or willing to learn about shy cats who can give me the time and space I need to settle into my new home. Other cats in the home will also be a great comfort to me. An inside only home or a home with a cat run is a must to keep me safe.

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

Medical Notes: Fifimeow previously had a urethral blockage (stranguria) which was caused by a buildup of struvite urolithiasis in the bladder. He underwent surgery to remove the blockage and has recovered well. He requires a special diet of prescription urinary food (Hills C/D Stress wet food) and needs to be encouraged to drink water. He may or may not get another urinary blockage in future which will require urgent medical attention. A quiet, low stress home will help reduce the chance of further urinary blockages.

Fifimeow was exposed to Ringworm, a common fungal infection. He did not show any symptoms and was given the all clear by the vet.
