About Otis
Overthinking Otis is available for adoption! He is a very sweet, smart and quiet boy who would love to find his furever home.
When he first came into our care he was so timid and scared of everything. He was terrified of humans and didn't really understand the concept of living amongst people. You could see him anxiously analysing every situation wondering what would happen next.
His foster carers worked very closely with him to help him gain his confidence and to work on his trust issues. He has come so, so far and has since learned to trust us humans and that pats and attention can actually be quite purrfect!
Throughout his care it has been very clear that he does not cope well with change. Because of this, he will be adopted under foster-to-adopt to allow him that extra time and flexibility to settle in and adjust to his new home.
Ideally, he would prefer a household where he can be the sole kitty! He gets very afraid when he is cornered so he would do best on his own. That being said, if you feel your current pets are calm and very cat-friendly, Otis might be able to warm up to some other chilled animals. As for kiddos - older kids could be okay so long as they are very understanding that Otis likes and needs his space and he will tell you when he wants to be pat.
When he has warmed up to you, oh boy will he make the purrfect companion! He is a very smoochy boy who loves to be doted on. He has really learned that humans can scratch all those hard to reach spots! Since he is on the quiet side, he won't be a super needy cat that must be in your lap at all times. He won't mind if you have plans that take you out of the house, or if you do work full-time out of the house. He is quite independent and is really just looking for a respectable roommate with a similar lifestyle.
Otis has mentioned that any of the following scenarios sound purrfect:
- An owner who tends to be an overthinker who can relate to him and his overthinking.
- A quiet home where someone is looking for some extra company.
- A patient human who can give him the time and space he needs to come out of his shell.
