Ashton is full of spunk! he has a bright light in him that shines on the lives of those he comes in contact with. He is a social butterfly with a sense of humour and a big smile. He has been raised around dogs of all sizes and knows where he stands in the hierarchy of the pack.
Sleeping much of the day away, Ashton get some good zoomies happening with his giant gumboot feet - spreading joy around the house as he goes.
Our beautiful boy Ashton has grown big, strong and happy in care- born and raised to know nothing but love and comfort, he is seeking his own special forever homes with human/s who will adore and cherish him to no end.
Born in care as a litter of two, and have become very reliant on each others company. Because of this Winifred and Ashton are both looking for homes where they will have an active, well mannered resident dog or plenty of opportunities to socialise though training and puppy school as he learns to be the best dogs he can be.
Their new home must remember that yes, while he is a big boy, he is only a baby who needs firm but fair compassion and gentle guidance as he learns to navigate this big wide world. Ahstons new home will need to have a well thought out routine/plan to ensure they are well socialised, exposed to new experiences and be afforded the opportunity to mingle with different types of people, places and animals. (once fully vaccinated).
Although he's an active pup it can be detrimental to the joint health of an XL dog to exercise vigorously too young. 5 minutes of gentle walking per month of age is ideal (three months = 15 minutes etc), giant breeds should not be jogged until they are fully grown at around 18months. As Ashton will be still growing well into their second year - nutrition is very important to his growth and development and should be kept on premium puppy food until fully grown. Currently on Lifewise and already eating up to 4 cups a day, feeding a giant pup will not be cheap!
Ashton has shown to be gentle with children, but remember he will be bouncy clumsy 40kg babies in the next few months who will have no idea of their size and weight - children in his new home should be confident on their feet and be respectful of dogs boundaries.
