About Mr Max
Profile and needs in a home
Max is an intelligent and curious dog who likes to be around his human family to find out what’s going on. He is a very affectionate companion, in a quiet way.
Any sign that a walk or a feed might be available is met with great enthusiasm.
He walks well on a lead and is content with walks of about 20 minutes - preferably on the flat. He has lost some teeth so hard food is more difficult for him to chew.
Although he has his own dog bed, Max likes to sleep in many places in his home. This includes lounges and chairs so a home where this is permitted is an absolute must.
He spends most of his time indoors so a home where he is permitted inside at all times is also an essential requirement
He is cautious around other dogs especially young enthusiastic ones and will tolerate other dogs for a few minutes then do a soft growl but is never aggressive. Since he is older, he seems to prefer the company of older dogs.
He his passive with young children and is happy to be patted and stroked but does not engage in play with them or roll over for belly rubs.
Max would be best in a situation where one or more people are at home most of the day - perhaps retired people rather than a young family. Mr. Max has a grade five heart murmur and requires twice-daily medication for this condition and a home that is able to provide for vet visits as required for monitoring of his heart condition.
Please MAKE SURE you also send us as much detail as possible on yourself and the home you are able to provide including your location, contact number, other pets if any, family members, lifestyle, exercise and mental stimulation you will provide, how often Max would be alone, where he will have access in the home and that Max will be able to sleep on lounges and chairs, where Max would go if you went away and could not take him with you, ability to cover vet expenses and any other information you wish to provide.
Medical notes
Mr Max has a grade-five heart murmur. He has had a cardiac ultrasound and has been started on heart medication and is stable on this medication. He will need to continue on this medication twice daily and will need a home that is able to provide for financially for vet visits as required for monitoring of his heart condition. We will of course have our vet provide his new family all if his vet notes.
