📌 Happiest being the only pet
📌 Any children need to be 12+ and dog savvy who will respect her independence
📌 An enriched and inclusive lifestyle where she will be an important part of the family with daily walks
📌 Lifelong commitment to ongoing training to foster good manners and regular structured socialisation
📌 Must be an inside dog and not left outside when noone is home, and have dig and jump proof fencing
Ninon is a gorgeous Malamute crossed with we think a Kelpie. She very much has the personality of both breeds.
She is sweet, intelligent, stubborn and loves her daily walks.
Ninon was a bit aloof when she first came into care, though quickly warmed up in the first week once she realised she gets yummy food and long walks. Now she plays and likes a scratch & wrestle. She is content chilling out, and not a lap dog. She will lay on her bed or on the floor in her own space for most of the day, until it's time for something fun. She is a good communicator. She will let you know if she wants to play by bringing you a ball, she will walk away if she doesn't want to be in a situation. She's gentle, even when she is rebuking you... "excuse me, don't feel like brushes right now".
Ninon is a very smart and alert girl, who can jump and dig. She is an inside dog and we recommend she's left inside when being left alone, especially if there's a storm. She's fully toilet trained and can hold all day. She isn't destructive and sleeps until you come home. Her intelligence, mixed in with her stubbornness, can result in some cheekiness. She's very good at picking up when you are being serious vs. it's not vital she listens. Example is if I tell her not to go somewhere in the backyard, she will turn around straight away - however if it's bed time, she will refuse to come to her room, and as you approach her she will drop on her back and play cute to get her own way.
She walks well on lead, can be a bit vocal when passing some dogs/cats and pull. She generally gets along with dogs, though her herding instincts can kick in with some dogs so supervision is required when meeting new friends. She'd prefer to be an only dog as she likes her space. She'd probably like someone who goes on runs, though is content with long walks. She will also need regular brushing to keep her coat nice.
Experience with an arctic or working breed is highly desired, though not essential.
If you're looking for an independent, yet loving and sweet girl who will greet you with a waggy tail & kiss, then Ninon might just be the right furry pal for you!
