Hi my names Ruby.

I’m 12 months old and I am a gentle, loving yet stubborn girl. I love eating, playing and being around my people. As much as I love and need love, I also need a firm but fair handler or I will push the boundaries a little to much and do what I want especially when I’m excitable. I am capable of being in a multi dog home but a certain process along with patience is needed to make sure it works. I understand pack orders but don’t respond well to domineering behaviour. Otherwise I’d also do ok as an only child 🙂. I'm a great companion + guard dog. As much as I love a cuddle and lay around I’m not a big lay around mastiff and I NEED to go for my daily 20-30 minute walk for mental and physical stimulation, I’m very athletic and very strong! I’m currently on a raw diet of mince, sardines, eggs, liver, vegetables and rice.

I love to run around and play with my foster brothers and sisters who are trying to teach me about toys and I’m starting to understand tug of war, when it comes to my humans I’d much prefer a rough up and run in the yard, a walk or pats and attention, I love going running with them to but I don’t get to do a lot of it yet because my bones are still growing 😤.

I cannot get enough of belly scratches and besides food it’s my favourite thing in the world. I love car rides and hanging my head out the window watching and learning. I’m well behaved at cafes/eateries but easily excited by the sight of dogs as I didn’t get to meet many when I was younger so I’m working on my introductions. I don’t bark much at all, only if someone is approaching the house and I won’t let them in without permission. I have basic manners and walking on the lead is good with my current handler but will need to be reinforced for my new family 🙂 but I could definitely use some practise with a possible food incentive to make these things that little bit better.

I can be wary of strangers until instructed by my handler and I’m very protective of my house, family and foster siblings. So I'd appreciate introductions to newcomers coming to the house!

I have slight separation anxiety when you leave but do no more then a howl or cry for 30 minutes before I start to forget about it. I really want to find my forever family to love and protect and can’t wait to get settled in. Anyone that meets me will fall in love so I’m told.
