Maverick

Maverick is an intelligent, affectionate, playful, happy, social, active young man, who lives to please his people!

Maverick has plenty of spunk about him (both personality and handsome good looks) who loves handing out high fives to his humans.

Maverick has previously been trained to use a harness whilst on his walks, as he often wants to move at his own pace and can pull on the lead. He will need someone committed to his ongoing training with his on-lead manners.

He would love a human who will let him sniff all the things, maybe go for a run, understands that other dogs are very exciting and he can be over the top and that some dogs find that intimidating, we are helping him walk calmly past them with encouragement and a bit of sausage or two. He is very food, toy and praise motivated- a typical staffy, he is very trainable. He is a bag of beans so will need a home committed to meeting both his physical and mental stimulation needs.

He loves to cuddle with his humans on the couch and to play with his toys. In particular, he’s very keen on his rope toys for tug-o-war or a Kong filled with tasty treats. As long as he has toys to play with, he’s quite content to be home alone, with his toys and chewy things.

He is happy to chill on the lounge with you (preferably on you), when he isn't entertaining himself.

He is house trained and will let you know if he needs to go outside. He is also a self-feeder, grazing throughout the day.

Maverick’s perfect home will have older, dog-savvy children, if any, due to his excitability. He will want to soak up all of the attention of his humans, so we are seeking an only-pet household. Mav gets very excited meeting new people and must meet them and make friends and then run at full speed with joy.

He hasn’t met a cat and we think he would thoroughly enjoy chasing one, so no cats please.
