About Miss Layla
Well hello there, I’m Layla a recently retired young mum. Ma says that I was the most gentle, dedicated, attentive and sweet mama any fur baby could ask for.
At first I will give you the impression that I am scared and will need a safe place to hide while I readjust to my forever home. My human ma said that over the last few weeks I have slowly explored ma’s home getting to know the resident cats, dogs and chickens.
From the beginning I have been super confident around the resident pups. One is blind and it didn’t take me long to figure out not to raise my paw to him as he just can’t see me. I love checking out the other cats and am respectful that it’s their space. As my confidence has grown I am more comfortable giving leg rubs and chatting to ma as she prepares my special meals to help me gain weight. I really love my food and will sometimes come to ma asking for a little more to eat. Once I’ve had my fill I’ll find somewhere super comfy to lie down and snooze.
I love hunting for my human ma to get some little pats, scratches under the chin and a good old fashion rub around my ears. I don’t really like to be picked up as yet but I am certainly getting more trusting as ma does this frequently throughout the day to help me get used to it.
Now that my babies no longer need my milk bar I’m finally growing into my own body as well as developing those gorgeous mitted colours. I must take a moment to let you know my tail is developing into a gorgeous wiggly worm waiting to wrap its lushness around your leg just to remind you I’m here.
Now that my mumma duties are over I’m loving being able to play like the young kitten that I am. I love rumbling and playing with my baby Poppy. Anything that wiggles, jiggles or rolls about will catch my attention.
If you have the patience in your heart to allow me to adjust to your home and give me a safe place to hide you won’t be disappointed. I’d love to move in with my little daughter Poppy as she is my best friend and is super brave as she helps me to adjust.
I’m comfortable with gentle small dogs and older ragdolls. In saying that I know I would really thrive in an indoor only quiet calm environment where I get all the time and attention I need to grow into a gorgeous girl. I haven’t been around little humans so not sure how I would go with them particularly as I’m a bit on the shy side.
If you can find room in your heart for me and possibly Poppy then fill in the Pre-adoption application today

Welcome to Small Paws Animal Rescue QLD.
We aim to place each of our animals with the best family possible.
Our adoption process may seem a little complex, we ask a lot of questions. But there are reasons for this.
1. Our animals in care are like our children.
2. We want to match the best humans with the animals to ensure you are happy and our animals are happy.
3. We don't want animals to come back to us. We want their family to be forever.
So our adoption process begins with an application being completed.
Once we receive the application we will assess it on face value of the answers you have provided.
Once we can determine if you sound like a good fit, we will call you to chat a bit further.
This is when we will schedule a meet and greet with your potential new family member/s.
We may need you to have more than one meet, especially if you have other pet/s that need to be introduced or children and other human family members.
We will confer with our foster carer, and advise you as soon as possible if you were successful in your meet and greet.
Once we have confirmed your success, we will arrange for the paperwork to be completed including the adoption payment.
We allow our foster carers time to say goodbye to their foster babies, it can be hard for some to give them to their new homes and we recognise all the hard work and dedication they have put in to ensure that your new family member has been safe and is ready to go to their forever home.
We will keep in contact with you for 2 weeks during a "trial" adoption period. There are terms and conditions to be met and we will advise you of these.
Once the trial period has ended we will send you the paperwork for your new family member.
At any time after this - if you need assistance you can always contact us.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
