ABOUT CHIMAY
Hi! I'm Chimay.
I came into care after a hard life on a rural property where us cats were allowed to run free and breed at will. I didn't like people, was very scared of them and did not trust them. Once my babies were weaned, it was time for me to go to a carer that could help me be the very best version of myself.
After just a month, I now enjoy pats and back rubs and can even be picked up!! My foster mum knows to start my pats on my back as I still get scared seeing a hand come straight at me. I have been reintroduced to Velvet (she's looking for a forever home too!) and we get along well. She came from the same property as me although I haven't met any other cats while I've been in foster care.
I think a calm, older female or non-dominant cat would be okay but I am really happy on my own too.
It would be good to have someone home a lot so I can enjoy pats and get better with my humans.
I must have been the last one born in my litter as they couldn't find me matching legs!! But they work perfectly fine for jumping and scratching my scratch pole.
BEHAVIOUR NOTES : Chimay can be very nervous and will need time to adjust to her surroundings. Due to this, a quiet, patient and calm home is required.
MEDICAL NOTES: Chimay is FIV+ and has previously had cat flu.
If there is another cat/s in the home, they should be either FIV+ or have received their FIV vaccinations.
FIV is hard to transmit and is typically done via deep bite wounds.
