About Kitty – 12-Year Old Male (on trial 19/02/22)
Recently, Kitty’s owner and a previous foster carer of DRN, passed away peacefully in her home.
Estelle (name changed for privacy) was an elderly lady who approached us a few years ago because she wanted to help but couldn’t commit to adopting a cat. She was worried about her elderly age.
So Estelle fostered a few cats but when Kitty came along, his terrible past and the fact that they were both such good company for each other, sealed the deal.
Estelle adopted Kitty. Kitty loved Estelle. They would spend time out in the secured garden together and then when it was time to go inside, Kitty would curl up on Estelle’s lap. After watching some TV, Kitty and Estelle would go to bed where Kitty would always sleep on the bed, keeping a close eye on Estelle.
But on Sunday night (3 days ago) and 2 years after Kitty came into Estelle’s life, his world came crashing down. Estelle wasn’t feeling well. Kitty knew something was wrong. He followed her around more than usual.
Estelle sadly passed away, peacefully on her chair with Kitty next to her.
We are all devastated.
Estelle was a beautiful, kind and generous lady who loved animals. She was a ray of sunshine to all of us but especially to Kitty, who’s previous life was full of trauma and abuse.
Kitty is now homeless. We would like to honour Estelle’s spirit and compassion for animals and find another perfect home for beautiful Kitty.
We are urgently seeking a permanent home (adoption) for Kitty.
Kitty is a 12-year-old male who is in full health. A quiet home with a single person or couple without any other pets would be the perfect home to allow him to grieve for Estelle and be loved by another kind and compassionate person. He has only just came into care and he is staying with a foster carer in Merewether.
