📌 A home where his humans are fluent in dog body language
📌 Lifelong commitment to ongoing training
If you’re looking for a lazy, loving companion who will follow you everywhere you go – look no further, Zion is seeking his forever home.
Prepare to be licked and loved at every opportunity, this boy has so much affection to give and certainly doesn’t hold back.
Zion is looking to be part of a single dog household with no other pocket pets. Although his preference is to be next to his human at all times, he can be left alone with stimulating toys for a few hours a day. He is best suited to a house with a yard where he can chase after his ball and get his afternoon zoomies out.
Interestingly, Zion seems to be very insightful to his humans’ emotional needs and will come to nuzzle and lick you if he thinks you’re in need of love and distraction.
SOCIALISATION
After a bad experience in the past Zion will need a confident human who will teach him how to be a well-mannered dog around other dogs and animals. Zion sometimes shows a lot of interest in saying “hi” to another dog while out walking but will also sometimes choose to avoid interaction. Zion can be quite intimidated by barking and may show signs of distress but can be easily distracted and reassured by his human.
Zion has not been tested with cats and other animals – he has shown significant interest in cats while out for walks but has never met a cat while in care.
OBEDIENCE
Zion will need a human who is committed to training to ensure his ongoing success. He doesn’t have any verbal cues but is getting better at sitting on command.
Walking Zion is a joy – he has become a dog that will walk by your side without pulling you. He wears a chain collar while walking and now responds to very slight corrections.
Zion is house trained and doesn’t bark, if someone walks past the house he may occasionally give a low growl.
FOOD
Zion has been enjoying Lifewise and Prime Rolls, sometimes with sardines. He also has enjoyed his goat horn.
SLEEPING
Zion sleeps in his crate at night - this is his safe space, and he will sometimes take himself to bed. Once he is put to bed you won’t hear from him unless he needs to go outside.
CAR TRAVEL
Zion loves to jump up into the car… even when he’s not supposed to. If a car door is open you can bet he’ll try to join you on your adventure. He travels well and barely makes a peep, he will usually have a good look around at the scenery and eventually lie down for a snooze.
CARE
Zion generally receives care quite well and has always had praise from the vet. He can flinch as he learns to trust humans but once he is comfortable will allow you to provide the care that is needed. Zion will tolerate a bath but doesn’t particularly enjoy them.
