About Minka
Minka, the 16month old staffy, came into care late last year. It took some time figuring out what routine worked best for her; something that was imperative for her foster carer and Hear No Evil, due to the fact that she has neuro issues and brain damage.
As a puppy, Minka had suffered severe neglect and abuse. This abuse has caused Minka to process things slower than the average dog,
(we joke that she runs on dial up) and to have some other quirks; a stiff trot and a head bobble.
This slow processing and the anxiety Minka has due to her brain trauma, meant that to be confident, to thrive, she needs routine and consistent boundaries.
After months in care working to teach her those boundaries and some manners, Minka was adopted! Sadly that adoption was not meant to be. Her new family struggled with enforcing the boundaries and routine Minka desperately needed to thrive. Consequently, Minka was returned to us.
She has spent the last 3 weeks with a new foster carer; living her best life with her new foster siblings: two staffies, a beagle, and a blue heeler. As well as, a multitude of other animals, including; a dog savvy cat that doesn't phase her, chickens that don't interest her, a sheep; that is a bit too friendly! And an intriguing horse.
Whilst in care, Minka has learnt to use a doggy door, regularly helps out with her carers occupational therapy sessions, and has been using her crate exceptionally well!
Minka has really thrived in an environment following a strict schedule with clear boundaries. This helps her navigate the world with her neuro-disability, and reduces her anxiety knowing what is expected of her, and what to expect.
She would be her best self with a family used to a regular routine, who will advocate for her needs.
LAST WORDS FROM CARER: Minka has only been in my foster care for a few weeks but she has settled in extremely well with our resident dogs, cat, chickens and sheep. The notes supplied by Hear No Evil and her previous foster carer were invaluable and I have simply built on these, with no drastic changes. She loves to play tug with the other dogs, but equally loves to sleep in front of the fire. She has learnt to use the dog door since she’s been here, loves to go for car rides and settles really well in her crate at night to sleep. Minka is cute, funny, lovable, has lots of potential and so much love to give <3

3rd Step *Payment of the non refundable Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
