About Duchess (on trial 27 Feb 2022)
Duchess is hilarious and certainly lives up to her name, both physically and mentally. Her tuxedo coat is accentuated by having one white and one black front leg. These markings make it look like she is wearing a one-shoulder white formal dress. Her attitude is also that of royalty. On her first day at her foster house she was confidently walking all through the house exploring her surroundings. Duchess has a gorgeous habit of chattering away to herself as she explores, it sounds like a little bird chirping.
Playing soccer with ping pong balls is Duchess’ favourite game, and boy can she jump and catch! She is also a great companion, following you around the house making sure she can see or is involved in what you’re doing, this includes sleep or rest time. If you sit on the couch or get into bed, she’ll most likely be there with you too. She would be great in a house with kids (aged 7 and over as long as they are gentle and respectful of animals) or another cat. At the end of big day she likes to curl up on her foster carers bed for a well-earned sleep.
Duchess is looking for a home where someone is home most of the time and her new home will need to be able to offer her lots of enrichment such as toys and a secure outdoor enclosure. Please note that she is a strictly indoor only cat unless she is in a secure enclosure.
Duchess currently has a small and large dog in her foster house, so is used to being around them. After some initial hissing, she now can be in their space and doing her own thing and even taps them with her little paw. Duchess isn't interested in other cats but may be happy living in the same space. Duchess would suit a home with children aged 7 and over as long as they are gentle and respectful of animals. Duchess is good with using her litter box, and theres no need to buy this kitten toys, as she will find joy in anything from a chocolate wrapper to your toes.
Duchess is an indoor only cat and is available to a home in the Newcastle/Hunter/Central Coast region only, so she can be returned to a DRN affiliated vet for desexing when she is approximately 3.5-4 months old.
Duchess’ adoption fee is $200 which covers her flea and worming treatment whilst in care, microchipping, first vaccination and desexing. She is in foster care in New Lambton, NSW. Please click this link to apply:
