About Spike
Please meet Spike - this gorgeous little man was born on 4th March, 2014 and is looking forward to finding his forever family.
Spike’s case is a sad one, for years he was with his owner right up till she passed away and unfortunately in his later years together, his owner developed dementia and sadly she used to treat him in a manner that wasn’t kind. Regardless of what cruel things she did to him, he loved her until the day she died. If that wasn’t sad enough, it was four days before they were discovered. As
When you meet Spike he is always so happy to see you and cant wait to be around you so much so he jumps up on his kennel door whilst wagging his little bum and tail.
Spike has shown signs of separation anxiety while at the facility and would be best suited to a home where he was not left alone for long periods of time or where he could tag along at work with you. At the facility we could see how his anxiety is relieved when he is around us humans but also when with another dog to play with so Spike spends his day with another dog Clark playing and chilling and we believe its done wonders for his anxiety.
Spike is a reserved young man if you raise your hand too quick or rush at him he can be defensive, so we would recommend that no children or dogs bigger then him and he be allowed inside during thunderstorms and fireworks where he knows he is safe.
Spike went into foster care with a lovely couple and it’s important we share their experience with you.

Comments from Carers – He is a beautiful dog but damaged. We will miss him a lot but recommend no children. He needs somebody who can devote a lot of time with him.
We aren’t going to sugar coat this – He was very much loved and the apple of his owners eye until she developed dementia. Once she got the dementia she started being cruel to him, he was kicked, he was thrown and relatives stepped in to help where they could and threatened to take him off her. Sadly she passed away and Spike was alone with her for days before she was found. He is beautiful in nature but like some small dogs, he can have small man syndrome. We haven’t seen any snapping at us but our carers are genuine, animal loving people so we need you to know what has been seen through the eyes of others outside the facility. Due to his previous foster carers experience with Spike, we would like to do a foster to adopt arrangement before adoption proceeds to see if he settles and shines in your household. So effectively you will be fostering first with first option to adopt.
Spike's adoption fee is $500 (if adoption goes ahead) and includes his desexing and lifetime registration. He is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.
To enquire more or to meet Spike, please email us at ccacfpetadoptions @gmail.com and speak to one of our friendly staff.
Spike is looking forward to meeting you.

Medical notes
We have had Spike to two of our vets for a consultation in regards to the comments stated from his foster carer as we thought he may have had some pain with his leg.
1st Consult - Our Vets at West Gosford have stated that he has low grade patella and with his age he could benefit from Zydax Injections if we see he is struggling with his legs.
2nd Consult - Our Vets at Morpeth have stated that he has a low grade patella and doesnt appear to be in any pain, he thinks it could be more behavioural from what he went through.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272 to make an appointment and ask further questions.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the foster carers home or at a convenient location.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
