About Locky
Locky is a beautiful 10 month old Great Dane cross Irish Wolfhound.
Don't be fooled by the size of Locky in the photo because this boy is TALL! Having both of these breeds and being only 10 months old this boy is still growing and is going to end up being able to touch the sky by the time he is done! You could almost say he is like Clifford the big red dog... He is just white and tan haha.
Locky is a gentle giant who is just after a family he can love.
He has lived with another dog in the past and dog tested fine here at BARC. However is a little bit unsure when they are in his face, just trying to move his head away. A home with another dog i fine as long as they respect his space.
When Locky first came into BARC he was a little on the shy side and took a little bit to come around. But once he got to know us he has now grown to love everyone that works here or comes through BARC.
Running up to greet you when walking into his pen, will sit at your feet then put his front legs up on you for a cuddle ❤
Still being such a young dude he will require some on going training and socializing with other dogs as well as people. He is quite switched on and LOVES his food so will happily learn quick...
Locky loves people and would love to have someone that can take him on lots of walks out of the house where he can see the world and experience everything good that comes with it.
Such a gentle soul he walks so well on lead, just happy to cruise along at what ever speed you wish to do just as long as he is with his family.
If there are kids in the home Locky will need to meet them first to make sure he is okay with them as he can be a little shy at first.
He would like a home where it is quite and his family can allow him to flourish. kids over the age of 10+ will be ideal.
If you think you can give this gentle giant the best of homes please give BARC a call on 5441 2209 to book in an appointment
Locky is available through BARC on a foster to adopt basis as he is still awaiting Desex. When calling to meet with this Stunning boy please discuss with staff the fostering requirements to ensure you are a suitable candidate.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
