About Vinny
Urgently seeking adoption (or foster) placement!
Are you Vinny's perfect family?
Little Vinny is utterly adorable but please read his full profile in detail. Vinny has had a total of 7 foster and adoptive homes in his very short life. It's not in his interests to keep shifting around. We're really hoping his next home will be for life.
He's not a first-time dog. He's a true family member.
Vinny is a pocket rocket. He's the energiser bunny on the busiest day of the year. You could think he's had 12 cups of coffee today
He does know how to relax, but he needs a quiet space to do it; Vinny has been partially crate-trained and he will happily go into his crate for some R and R. Ideally his new family will have a crate for him.
Vinny is wonderful with other dogs. He has been described as ""a dog's dog."" Vinny can read other dogs' body language and is polite and friendly.
But, he has serious amounts of energy and he wants to channel them into play. He needs to be matched up to a young, active dog of similar size or larger - he's too full on for very small or elderly dogs.
He also follows the lead of another dog so will learn from a dog with great manners.
If left home alone for long periods, Vinny gets a bit anxious. But with another dog around he's just fine
We are seeking a home with another dog for Vinny - this is non-negotiable.
He's bern on his own and it just hasn't worked. He is his best when he has a compatible friend.
Vinny has not been around cats but with a slow and steady introduction he may be okay.
Vinny is friendly with children but is too full on for young kids. He jumps up at people (those little legs can get some serious height!) and he can get nippy when over excited. Young children have contributed to getting Vinny riled up in the past. He needs a mature adult or teen home.
Vinny unfortunately missed out on getting much training as a young pup and he has some bad habits - his jumping up at people is the most significant one and it has unfortunately been reinforced.
Vinny is as bright as a button and learns fast but he needs a family committed to his ongoing training so that he can thrive.
Ideally Vinny would complete something like the RSPCA Level one training course for young adult dogs.
Vinny is a really lovely dog. He's friendly, loyal, loving and bucket loads of fun to have around.
He is house trained and doesn't dig or destroy things.
He's a great size and is only just over 12 months old.
His breed is anyone's guess - we're saying small staffy, stumpy-tail cattle dog, maybe jack Russell?
Vinny is $450 to adopt and is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
Please get in touch asap if you think you tick Vinny's boxes.
