Hi there, I'm Jalapeno. I got my name because I am one spicy little chilli 😁

I was found as a stray in Quairading and came into care in mid-December. I am about 11 weeks old now.

My exact history is unknown but I had definitely never seen people before coming into care. Do you know how BIG you guys are??
It's amazing that I was able to be caught - I hissed and spat and carried on but my kind rescuers persevered.

So fast forward a month and I've been hanging out in foster care. I'm much more familiar with people around me, but I still HATE being picked up. Like seriously, if you try to grab and hold me I will still hiss and swat at you. I have sharp little claws too.

I am SUPER DUPER playful and energetic and I just love to chase toys and pounce on things. I love to play with other kittens, though I play a bit rough for anyone smaller than me.

My foster mum has a bit of an important message about me.
She keeps saying she expected me to be making more progress than this. Most kittens who are very feisty at 7 weeks old, are a lot less feisty after a month of socialising.
But I'm really taking my sweet time.

There's a couple of things to know. Right now, if you let me loose in a space bigger than, say, a small playpen - you probably won't be able to catch me. You definitely won't catch me without getting scratched 😉
There's a good chance that I will never ever become a cat who tolerates being picked up and held.

I have a beautiful face and I'm very endearing but it's important that my new family is realistic about what to expect from me.
I'm certainly not suited to small children who want a cuddly friend.
My new family need to be committed in the long haul but also have realistic expectations about my future behavior. I definitely deserve a safe and loving environment to grow and thrive in.
And I'll absolutely be a joy to watch as I grow and climb and play.
I'll be happiest in a home with another active playful cat to hang out with so if you have a lonely kitty wanting a playmate, I'll be perfect!
I can also live with a cat-friendly dog.
But I'm kind of like art, to be enjoyed from afar. ☺️

My reduced adoption fee includes all the normal stuff - desexing, microchip and vaccination.
