Single kitten syndrome is real and here at Cat People of Melbourne, we want the best for our kittens and for the people who adopt them. A Purrfect Pair means having kittens that keep each other company when you're at work and the kids are at school (or variations thereof). What does this mean for the kittens? It means lower stress levels, an instant play partner and snuggle buddy, and for you, you don't have a cute kitten who grows into a teenage terror swipes and plays too hard with your kids or your ankles because they don't have a buddy and are bored or acting out.
Isn't it more money and work? Not really. 2/3 litter trays instead of 2. Double the food... we're not going to lie, they eat a lot when they're growing, but it settles down at a year and a half. There are fantastic vet programs out there which minimise the cost of vet bills and of course with all our kittens, all the vet work is included in our adoption fee. Yes everything - desexing, vaccinations, microchipping and transfer into your name, flea treatments and worming. We also offer after adoption support with our kitten pairs, and love to hear how they are settling in and growing up with their adopters.

All our Purrfect Pairs are healthy kittens who have been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped (source #RE101165). They will be desexed and ready to go to their forever homes from February 2022 onwards!

We are a volunteer run organisation, we check enquiries daily and try to respond within 24 hours. If you want us to follow up, you can text the Cat Phone on 0415-241-211.
To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from our group. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
