About Nugget
Are you looking for a best friend – someone that is happy to be in your personal space at all times? If the answer is yes – then look no further – Meet me I’m Nugget!
So I came into care and the rescue did this great thing of getting me desexed and doing my tonsils and nares – It’s so good to be able to breathe better! Mind you when I’m in a deep sleep I can still rock out some snores!
My foster mum says I am an absolutely lovely boy but I do have a few quirks
I live with a few other foster dogs – I am great with female dogs and any small breed male dog who is submissive – unfortunately I am not good with big breed dogs especially male ones – I have been known to try and go them despite my size and weight being far less than theirs. For this reason the rescue has said that under no circumstances will I be able to live with a big breed dog.
The rest of the dogs are small breeds like me and girls and I get along with all of them no problems.
I can be an only dog or with another – I’m pretty easy either way with that side of things BUT (and yep there is always a ‘but’…..) I do need a human around me more often than not – I need (not want) I need to be able to be with my humans out doing gardening, unloading the groceries, watching Netflix, doing the washing – I am your man – I just love to be around my humans.
My ideal home will be with someone who is home more often than not or who works from home – I’m still young so I would like to be a part of my families’ lives. I do sleep on my foster mums bed and this is something I would like to continue with – I mean just think we can snuggle on the couch and then snuggle in bed together (after you have told me how cute I am at least 3 times that day!)
I haven't been around children much but I’m thinking I will get cuddles and attention so there is a huge chance I am going to be a big fan! Especially if one is happy for me to sleep with them at night – I love to spoon – I’m normally the big spoon!
I also need someone who is happy to do a monthly shop to the reject shop for new tennis balls or squeaky balls – I love playing with them, chasing them (not great on fetch), and just generally walking around with them in my mouth. The other dogs I’m with are pretty good they like to chase me while I have the ball but they don’t try and take it from me.
My foster mum has said no way to cats – apparently she wouldn’t trust me.
I love going for a walk especially with my fur siblings (my excitement does mean that sometimes I zig and zag when walking). I love doing park days, and outside time while my humans are with me- but my foster mum does keep a close eye on me as ‘my behavior can leave a lot to be desired’ when I see a big breed dog.
I love when company comes to visit because it means more attention for me – did I say that I was just a happy go lucky boy who just loved life yet??
I am not great at having photos taken – my foster mums swears I know she is trying to take a photo and she tells me I put on a mopey face to pull at my foster mum’s heart strings cause it works every time hee hee but I really am a happy boy – I just have that woe is me look down pat.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
