Peach

8-year-old Peach is an absolute sweetie. A loving soul who has adapted to life on a couch fantastically, Peach is ready to find her forever home.

Peach is sweet and gentle with humans and takes comfort lazing away in the same room as her foster carers. She enjoys receiving pats from strangers and letting them marvel at how wonderful she is.

Peach’s favourite things in the world include: peanut butter and yoghurt, big squeaky toys, rearranging her bed, napping on her favourite blanket (or stealing yours), and generally being comfy. Peach’s ideal home will indulge her quest for ultimate comfiness by providing multiple dog beds around the home for her to choose from.

Peach is currently living in an apartment and, as a typical lazy greyhound, she is quite well-suited to apartment life. That said, she does love a sneaky hallway zoomie and a home with a little bit of room to accommodate her short bursts of play would be ideal. A backyard, an even bigger bonus.

Peach hasn’t had much opportunity to socialise with other dogs, but she is polite when she meets them on walks. She could potentially go to a home with another greyhound or large breed dog, pending introductions. That said, she is also happy being the sole recipient of her human’s affection. Peach loves being included in her human’s lives and is partial to brunch and dinner dates, happy to watch the world go by and accept tasty morsels for being the goodest girl.

Things to note:

• Walkies: Peach can sometimes get a bit overwhelmed outside, but she has grown to love walks and discovering new places to sniff. Early on in her foster period, Peach would freeze a lot on walks. We suspect this was a combination of feeling overwhelmed by the new environment and a pesky corn on her paw. Peach’s new home will understand if she needs some gentle encouragement on walks in her new neighbourhood, starting slow and allowing her lots of time to sniff.

• Peach has only spent short periods home alone so far and prefers having human company around. Peach’s perfect home is one where her humans are home most of the time.

• A fussy lady: Peach can be fussy with food and enjoys meaty toppings to make her kibble more appetising. She enjoys tucking treats away in her bed (or the couch cushions) to save until later.
