2 years ago Gilou became a stray but luckily enough to for him he found his way into the home and heart of a ‘small animal specialist’. He was in a pretty poor condition, riddled with fleas and a skin problem later diagnosed as an environmental stress allergy. Gilou has responded well to a desensitizing vaccine and his skin lesions have resolved completely, as you can see by the photos his coat is great, thick and shiny. His year of monthly vaccinations was completed 2 months ago and he continues to do well.
He has great toilet habits, and despite his weight (8kg) he is not a big eater and hopefully will see a decrease in his weight in the future. At present he is on an Original Science Hill Dry food with an occasional wet pouch, which he tends to lick just the gravy off.
His favourite toys are soft fluffy balls and a sponge ball which he kicks around the house and a jiggle toy on the end of a stick.
Gilou has been a single cat during the last 8 months in foster and has been very happy. He is untested with other cats and has not been outside unless in a cat-max or a cat-netted area. He would suit a single cat household.
He enjoys the company of his foster parents, although not a lap cat, will occasionally sleep on the bed and does not scratch furniture. He loves the high tower scratch post to view out the window commanding his castle.
He will talk to you but is not a vocal cat….and likes his own private time to nap which he does a lot.
Gilou loves being groomed and will come and sit quietly waiting when he sees the grooming brush.
He is a lovely big boy and will be missed by his foster parents, but they know a new loving home is out there for him xx
Medical notes
He appears very healthy and has passed all
