About Evie
If you’re looking for the Betty White of the dog world; a sweet, gentle senior lady with a sense of fun; then look no further!
Evie is a 10-year-old Border Collie with plenty of love and wags to give her new family. Affectionately referred to as “Ewok” by her foster family due to her fluffy good looks, Evie is a brilliant companion.
An ex working dog, Evie is hard of hearing and doesn’t have the best sight. Neither of these things diminish her joy in exploring the world around her. She is happy to potter around the house and yard supervising your activities.
She is toilet trained, uses a dog door comfortably (although if you’re nearby she’ll wait for you to open the door like the lady she is!), and enjoys a good pamper (wash and brush). She loves a car trip and will wait by the car if you pick up the lead.
She may be older but Evie still loves a gentle walk and play. She walks well on a loose lead and LOVES playing fetch. She’ll drop her ball in your hand and will even throw it to you if you’re not quick enough to grab it. Because she’s not as limber as a younger dog, Evie would be best suited to a house without stairs.
Evie’s foster home has chickens and horses – both of which Evie takes in her stride. She is good with her 3 foster siblings of various ages. She would be perfectly content being an only dog but if you do have another dog, it would be best if they are similar in energy levels so Evie can enjoy a peaceful, well-earned retirement.
Evie has some lumps and bumps. These have been tested whilst in care and are benign (some were removed in care) however, they should be monitored moving forward. She does get a little nervous at the vet but retains her sweet disposition during her visits.
If Evie sounds like the girl for you, please apply!
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
