📌 Lifelong commitment to ongoing training to foster good manners and regular structured socialisation
Our babies have grown big, strong and happy in care- born and raised to know nothing but love and comfort, they are seeking their own special forever homes with families who will adore and cherish them to no end. They were born in care as a litter of two, and have become very reliant on each others company. Because of this Winifred and Ashton are both looking for homes where they will have an active, well mannered resident dog for company and guidance as they learn to be the best dogs they can be.
Winifred is ADOPTED!!
Ashton is a bit more of an out there kind of guy, he thinks he is king of the jungle and takes to wrestling with the big dogs with confidence and style! He has been watching his sister learning how to leap and tries to copy her, unfortunately his out of proportion legs don't really work with leaping!
Their new homes must remember that yes, while they are large- they are only babies and to treat them with firm but fair compassion as they learn to navigate this big wide world. Their new homes will need to have a well thought out routine/plan to ensure they are well socialised, exposed to new experiences and be afforded the opportunity to mingle with different types of people, places and animals. (once fully vaccinated).
Although they are active pups it can be detrimental to the joint health of an XL dog to exercise vigorously too young. 5 minutes of gentle walking per month of age is ideal (three months = 15 minutes etc), giant breeds should not be jogged until they are fully grown at around 18months. As they are still growing well into their second year - nutrition is very important to their growth and development and should be kept on premium puppy food until fully grown. Currently on Lifewise and already eating up to 4 cups a day.
They have shown to be gentle with children, but remember they will be bouncy clumsy 40kg babies in the next few months who will have no idea of their size and weight, putting small children at risk of being jumped on, mouthed or knocked over.
They have not been introduced to cats but as with any introductions to new pets, it should be taken slowly and be supervised. these pups will want to play with any animal they meet, so if cats in the home they should be very confident with dogs.
