About Pusska
MEET PUSSKA!
Pusska is approximately 12 years young. He is a long haired gentlemen who is fully vet worked and ready for his retirement home.
Pusska was sadly surrendered to the rescue due to no fault of his own, his beloved owner is now in care and can no longer have him, he has spent his entire life with his old owners so we are very sad for Pusska and his owner.
Pusska is looking for his own quiet home to retire in and spend his remaining years (hopefully 5+!) in comfort, Pusska is healthy for his age and in excellent condition, he needs to be fed a premium quality senior diet to keep him in tip top condition, though he is nuts for fancy feast gravy!
Pusska is such an easy going boy, he left his home to come to the rescue and found himself alone in an enclosure which cant have been easy, however he has taken it in his stride and immediately made himself at home.
All he wants is lots of pats and love, he enjoys a brush which is a bonus since he does require daily grooming with his brush to keep his magnificent coat in top condition! Pusska would settle down into most quiet homes as long as he's treated like the king he is, he would however prefer to live without inside dogs (okay as long as they leave him alone, he is an old guy after all!) and ideally as the only cat in your home. Pusska loves to sleep on the bed with his human and will follow you around for attention.
Pusska has had a hip surgery many years ago that was successful, he had a Femoral Head and Neck Excision (FHNE) performed by Ballarat Veterinary Practice and his file will be transferred to the new owners chosen vet clinic.
Pusska would make an excellent companion for an older person, retiree or someone who is simply needing some company and a new bed buddy.
He has experience with older kids 10+ but we are told he would prefer not to live with little kids.
If you give Pusska a chance, we are confident you will fall in love with this older boy and find yourself a new best friend.
--Pusska is INDOOR ONLY please only apply for him if this is suitable for your home.
--Pusska would prefer to be the only cat in your home please
--When applying for Pusska please tell us all about yourself and your home and why you think he would be a good match for you!
Medical notes
Pusska is in good condition for his age, he requires a premium brand senior diet for the rest of his life to maintain this good condition & daily dental treats such as Greenies. We recommend Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, Advance food brands.
Pusska has had a hip surgery many years ago that was successful, he had a Femoral Head and Neck Excision (FHNE) performed by Ballarat Veterinary Practice and his file will be transferred to the new owners chosen vet clinic. As the surgery was years ago he is fully recovered, however he may develop some arthritic pain in his hip as he ages and prefers not to be touched or brushed in that area. Arthritis can be easily managed if he does happen to develop it.

Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
