About Angel ~ 3yr Old Catahoula X (24/1/22pending adopt)
Meet Angel a gorgeous white and brown spotted 3 year old Catahoula x. She is very adorable and affectionate. She is quiet, well behaved, easy to train and loves her cuddles.
Angel loves adventure and discovering new places, going for walks especially in the forest or the beach, she prefers large open areas and does not enjoy fenced dog exercise areas where she feels a little restricted. She is a little shy at first but warms up to new people very quickly and has a lot of affection to give. She loves playing in the backyard and is always excited to greet you when you come home. She is so quiet, that her foster carers have never heard her bark. She is still learning how to play with toys and fetch and so far, her favourite thing is playing and chewing on Rawhide knot bones. She has a little brown teddy bear and a yellow stuffed donkey that she just adores and sleeps with. One of the things to note when it comes to toys, is that Angel gets very anxious around squeaky toys, so please do not think it would be a good idea to get her any of them.
Since she has been in the care of her foster carers, she has learned a few tricks such as sit, lying down, paw (shake) and walking by your side. She is generally responsive to vocal commands. Angel is toilet trained and currently sleeps on her bed in the living room of her foster carer.
Since coming into care, Angel has developed more positive social behaviours around other dogs. She is curious when she meets a new dog but prefers to meet new dogs in a calmer setting. She likes to socialise on her own terms in an environment she is comfortable in. She does not like to be overwhelmed by puppies with lots of energy or multiple dogs that are all around her at one time.
When it comes to other animals, Angel is very calm, doesn’t bark or try to chase. She currently lives in a house with a budgie who she gets along with (always under supervision). Angel’s fur-ever family will need to have an active lifestyle and understand that Angel will need exercise and mental stimulation. Angel gets along with most dogs and would love a home with another dog.
As she loves her humans so much, she would need to be welcomed inside when the family is home and be involved in her new family’s life. Angel would benefit with someone that is home most of the time or works part time as she can get bored and start digging around or escaping the backyard to look for her humans when she is alone for long hours.
Angel loves cuddles and attention. The more time you can give her the better. As Angel can get overwhelmed or anxious around very energetic young children, she will be better with older kids or an active couple.
Considering her size, she would need a secured large backyard with at least a 1.5m fence. She will be well suited in the quiet suburbs with plenty of open areas (parks/forest/beaches…etc) or at a farm as she will not do well in cramped and busy city neighbourhoods.
We hope you will consider adopting this gorgeous sweetheart. For more information on Angel, please contact her foster carer AJ and Julie on their email d83julie.grebert@gmail.com
