About Poppy ~ 7mo Mixed Breed Puppy(M&G 16/1/22)
Poppy is a super sweet and stunning 7mo Mixed Breed female puppy. She has come a very long way since coming into care, and is now ready to find her forever home. She is a cheeky princess who loves cuddles, following you around and most of all belly scratches.... the leg will start kicking nearly everywhere you pat her!
She loves her wet & dry food but treats and bones are her favourite. Above all else, Poppy loves human and other animal company so somebody that has other animals or is retired and wants a constant companion would be preferred. Poppy would best suit a household where someone is home throughout the day to keep her company, or have another dog present as well.
Poppy's education started later in life than most family dogs. She is willing and keen to learn but extra patience and training will be required, but she learns best from copying and watching the other mature bigger dogs in the house. She will require ongoing training and consistency in her home, and homes with experience with larger mix breed dogs will be highly preferable.
Poppy has improved significantly with her toilet training, but there are occasionally still some accidents. She's exceptionally eager to please and is working hard to be the best all round doggo she can be. Toilet training during the day is going well, however she can sometimes forget early in the morning. She is still a little shy so will need some more encouragement.
Please do not apply if you: 1. Live in an apartment or townhouse with no back yard. 2. Have small or no fences (rural fencing is not considered secure enough for this dog) 3. All family members are away most of the day. 4. Have not considered that a puppy is a 10-15 year commitment and a new family member.
We always recommend puppy training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All puppies will need plenty of affection, exercise, and training to ensure proper boundaries and routines are established. This will ensure that you get the best family member / friend possible.
Poppy has some amazing skills, they include:
- Uses the dog door
- Good with dogs and small children including park visits
- Sleeps inside on bed or couch... in heat will sleep on tiles for temp
- She can sometimes be a little impatient with feeding, she loves her own space while enjoying her dinner
Poppy has been an absolute joy in her foster home and will be missed by the puppies and members of the house. She's a hit with visitors and is always loved by all who meet her. This cheeky little lady will provide a lot of affection to the right person.
