About Simba ~ 1yr Old Kelpie X
Simba is a very handsome 1yr old Kelpie X. He’s mostly a black and tan Kelpie with a bit of something else and he is about one year old. He is a big snuggle bug who loves to be around his people, cuddling and having his butt and tummy scratched!
Simba enjoys zoomies in the garden and playing with balls and chew toys. He is very clever and learns quickly. He is scared of other dogs and will need ongoing help to overcome his fears and also training to be able to walk on the lead without pulling. He has received professional help with this and is making good progress. He is wary of new people but warms up very quickly, especially if offered a small treat. He is not cat friendly and has not been tested with pocket pets or birds. He is toilet trained and sleeps inside on his bed at night. He would be ideal for an early bird jogger because he wakes at 6am and is ready to go.
Since coming into care Simba has grown in confidence. Simba can be quite strong on the lead and he needs to go to a home that understands Simba will need more consistent training. Simba is a beautiful boy that loves his humans!
Although he loves having his family at home, he is also very good at amusing himself in the yard while they are at work/school and Simba's current neighbours report no barking or whining. He would be better suited to teenage children because of his size and strength, and he will need regular exercise and a good-sized yard or he becomes restless. He has not attempted to take off or jump his foster carer's fences.
For more information or to meet Simba, please contact his foster carer on their email Rhona.hammond@gmail.com If you would like to apply for Simba please fill out the application form found here: https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
Simba is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and is not available for adoption interstate. Simba’s adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
