About Rin
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Rin
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to SAFE Esperance from the pound. She's settled well in foster care and is now ready to take the next step and find a home of her own.
BREED: Whippet X
Breed traits: - Friendly with people, children and other dogs. They do not tolerate being alone for long periods and can suffer anxiety. Whippets need plenty of good exercise or can be destructive. They are a sighthound with a high prey drive so generally cannot live with other small furry species. They also need a well fenced yard and to be walked on leash as can chase prey given the chance. They are a loving affectionate companion but do not tolerate the cold so need to be an inside dog.
ASSETS: Easy going, affectionate, eager to please, friendly, obedient, active, playful and sweet! Rin is an absolute delight to be around with her beautiful nature and is a clever cookie as well as being a total sweetheart. She has a ton of love to give to the right family.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Activities and playtime! Rin loves running and bush walks and loves to play ball or chasey with the other dogs in her foster home. She's also a really affectionate girl and laps up all the cuddles she can get.
ENDEARING FEATURES: She's a total ball of energy and fun!
OTHER ANIMALS: She's a little wary of new people and dogs on first meeting them but soon warms up. Her foster carers feel that she needs to live with another young, friendly, playful dog as playtime makes her so happy and she has tireless energy to burn. She won't be able to go to a home with cats or small animals as she will chase given the opportunity.
GENERAL INFO: Rin walks well on her lead and is housetrained. She rarely barks and isn't destructive. She knows a few commands and has good recall when she's out and about with her foster carer, although being a sighthound, care must be taken that she is not allowed to chase.
ESSENTIALS for Rin:
*A loving, affectionate home where someone is there for part of the day or can take her with them when they go out.
*Continued training as she is a bright cookie and would really flourish with more gentle guidance - she really wants to please.
*Another friendly young doggy friend to play and interact with - she really enjoys the company of the other dogs in her foster home.
*Good daily exercise - she is getting two good walks/runs a day and really needs this to keep her happy and healthy so needs an active home. If you don't provide Rin with enough exercise and stimulation she will find her own entertainment!
*A well fenced, secure yard with some grass and interesting things for her to sniff and explore or a property with good rural fencing. Once settled and with a little training she will stay close to home
*To be allowed inside or out as she chooses, to sleep inside at night and be included as part of the family. She has loads of love to give and needs that connection with her human.
Rin could live with dog-savvy, gentle children over 10 years of age. She is gentle but is a good medium size with a long body, a very long tail and she is active
If Rin sounds like the perfect girl for you, please send an enquiry and we'll be in touch soon.
