About Copper
Copper is a very well-behaved, affectionate young boy. He loves showing how much he cares by greeting you with a big smile and Waggy tail in the mornings. We think he is so cute. One of his absolute favorite things is a good cuddle and scratch behind his ears.
Copper is a high energy Kelpie puppy who will need space and things to do to keep him enriched as he matures
He has had 2 sets of puppy vaccines
OBEDIENCE
Copper is a playful puppy and his behavior matches his energy. He is learning to sit but will need a lot more training and definitely puppy school. He comes when you call him, loves ball play but will need training to bring the balls back to you. He loves running in the yard with us, playing chess with the kids and the old classic tug of war. We take him out for walks for general outdoors enrichment, they donât need to be long walks, just enough to take in the world. Copera is a huge fan of other dogs, so keep him protected when out and about. He enjoys spending time with other dogs and kids playing fetch or just hanging around the backyard, any human interaction is great. He will need enrichment and we found that toys, bones, kongs and pigs ears keep him out of trouble.
ENRICHMENT
Copper has great energy, he rarely barks. He will need stimulation when alone for long periods, such as chewing on bones or toys. If left for too long, he can get bored and create his own entertainment by pulling things around the yard or chewing items he finds. He is extremely quiet when he plays alone and gets super excited with company. If you throw a ball in the yard and take him on daily walks he will thrive.
.
SOCIALIZATION
Copper has been in care with another dog but as long as he has a good family he won't need to be with another dog. He has met a few other doggies and loves to run and play with them and can actually be too active for some dogs. Coppers foster family has a dog three older children and two adults. He has shown playful cheeky affection to all of us and is happy to sit or follow us around curiously. He has had several visitors both dogs and people and just loves everyone. He would best be suited to a family who has children ages 5 and older.
IDEAL HOME:
We feel Copper would thrive in a home with a family who are very active and are seeking a higher energy intelligent dog . Copper would probably prefer to be an access all areas dog giving him the freedom to go about his day as he sees fit. He is partially house trained and will need a bit of extra training to get to know his boundaries. His family will need to invest time in him and ensure he has daily enrichment because he likes affection. He will need space as he loves to run so a decent yard is required. Copper is the cutest kind of canine companion and would love to live with a family that loves cuddles.
Copper would love a BFF so if another dog in residence we seek a female of similar energy
