About Ceo
You will not find a more loyal companion than Ceo. She is the most loving girl who will smother you in love and kisses as much as you will let her. Ceo will follow you around and be on your heels wherever you go. If she is with you, she is happy. She loves to snuggle with you on the lounge but will also go and lie on her own bed when told. Ceo has a more timid personality but wants to make friends with everyone that she meets – as long as they give her the pats that is! She is just absolutely the sweetest and most loving dog around. Her waggy tail and little spins which she does when excited are just adorable.
Ceo has been living with a range of other dogs while she has been in foster care. She is friendly with all the dogs she has met, as well as the resident cat and birds (out of cage). Boisterous dogs and puppies are too overwhelming for her – she prefers her doggy companions to be calm and easy going and it takes her a little bit to build her confidence up around them. Ceo has also shown a preference towards the smaller dogs in the home that are around her size (9kg) and smaller.
During her time in care, Ceo has been beautifully behaved in the house. She is toilet trained, crate trained and compliant with handling. On arrival, she was overweight (10.2kg), showing signs of arthritis and yeasty (overgrowth of natural yeast in ears and on skin resulting in waxy ears and licking of feet/legs). To remedy this, she has been on a low carb fresh food diet (Prime 100 rolls), had treatment on her back, started on Antinol Rapid and fortnightly she has had medicated baths and ear cleaning. The results have been excellent as she is now able to run and get up with ease, has lost over 1kg and we are getting on top of the yeast. Her new owner needs to be committed to following the advice of her foster carer to ensure that Ceo is able to live her best life moving forward – this will be an ongoing commitment for the rest of her life but is simple and cost effective.
We are looking for a loving and committed home for Ceo where she will have ample human companionship (not suited to full-time workers). She is fine to be left alone but she lives to be with you and after being the companion to an elderly lady who passed away, it is now her turn for someone to look after her and give her whatever she needs. The more people around the better as it means more attention for her, but she doesn’t need a loud household with younger kids running around in her retirement years.
Ceo must be allowed to live inside with the family but she also loves to go out in the yard and lie in the sun (no matter how hot it is!) so a yard of some description would be ideal. She wants lots of cuddles and attention but she shouldn’t be doing too much jumping up and down off high furniture. Currently, she sleeps on her own bed in her foster carer’s room at night and slotted into the routine of her foster home very quickly. Ceo does not need a lot of exercise and should not be given too much; however, she thoroughly enjoys going for her walks. Ideally, she would like a 15 minute slow walk around the block each day. She can be a bit nervous in loud or busy environments so we are really looking for someone in a quieter suburban area. Ceo is fantastic off-lead and will not leave you but dog parks are too overwhelming for her as she is timid with unknown dogs approaching her.
This girl deserves the world and she will give you love back three fold. If you are interested in applying for her then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry Form on the Fetching Dogs website as the next step.
Medical notes
Ceo has a luxating patella on her right hind leg and possibly some arthritis in her hips/back – she should remain on a supplement such as Antinol Rapid and/or Rosehip Vital. She may benefit from arthritis injections at the vet down the track. She also has a couple of lipomas which do not require any treatment. Ceo is starting to lose her hearing and has early cataracts. She has had a general blood test done and her results came back perfect across the board.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
