About Pikelet
Introducing our most affectionate girl Pikelet !
This girl just oozes love and her carers are yet to find someone she isn’t happy to receive a pat from. Men, women, children, men in hi vis or glasses she loves them all and will happily lap up any attention she can get.
Pikelet came from a Sydney pound with her siblings. She lacked confidence in the world due to minimal socialisation as a pup. She has been doing brilliantly in care and now is a wonderful house mate and loves going for twice daily walks.
Due to her sheltered start to life, she is not suited to novice dog owners as she needs a confident handler who can continue her exposure. 90% of the time she is miss confident and even loud noises like motor bikes don’t bother her, but occasionally she get a little nervous and with correct handling she recovers very quickly.
In the house Pikelet is a dream. She is toilet trained, uses a doggy door and sleeps through the night in her crate in her carer’s room without a peep. Her new home must provide her with an indoor place to sleep. During the day she enjoys running around playing with toys and lounging on the couch with her people. We will be looking for a home with a yard for her to play in and people around most of the week to fulfill her need for attention. Her carers are currently working on getting her used to being left alone at home, but her new owners will need to continue to build her independence.
Pikelets basic training is coming along well and she knows basic commands and walks well on leash. She is highly food motivated and loves engaging with her people so training is a breeze. She needs continued work with engagement in busier areas and her recall needs brushing up. Pikelet is friendly with other dogs and we feel she would be best suited to going to a home with another similar sized dog for her to play with. She loves going on pack walks with other family members dogs. Out and about she can get a little excited on leash trying to say hi to other dogs, so her new owners should continue training in this area and avoid off leash areas until her training and engagement are better.
If you’re looking for an outdoor and adventure loving pooch, Pikelet will be up your alley. She craves her daily exercise and currently does two one hour walks a day to keep her satisfied. We are looking for a family with another confident and friendly dog for company, someone home more often than not and a family that can provide her with the stimulation and training she loves and craves. In return she will shower you with endless affection and laughter- this girl is seriously lovely !
If you feel you are what are sweet girl is looking for in a forever family, fill out an adoption application on our website as the next step in the process.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
