About Rosie
Hi! I'm Rosie and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
The first thing you need to know about me is that I've led a very sheltered life and don't appear to ever have left a backyard. Due to this, I'm a very timid girl who needs time to get used to new people and situations.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR ROSIE
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/6TDz1LcfRcepTp7U9
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate who is gentle and calm may be okay as boisterous dogs scare me so I will require lots of socialisation with positive experiences with other dogs.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• A quiet & mature family/household with a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time.
• No young children due to my timid nature, teenagers may be ok as long as they understand to take their time allowing me to get to know them.
• SOCIALISATION is very important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc.) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will understand to take it slow with me may be ok
My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• Although I don't appear to have had any training, I am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans once I get to know you. Belly rubs are my favourite
• I walk well on lead, although I can be nervous and drop to the ground when scared
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
AN ADOPTION CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU HAVE CANNOT COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET ROSIE IN PERSON.
