About Sooty
Sooty has been in care for a while and we believe she has come around as much as she will in care and is ready for a home where she can thrive.
Sooty is a cats cat. She adores most of the resident cats at her foster carer's home and is content to play and be around them all day. However, she's not a lap cat and will only allow pats and purrs when she feels like it (usually after her foster carer has been out all day or at mealtimes). She's a beautiful girl who requires an experienced cat person with other cats to truly thrive. She will require a lot of patience as she gets very stressed in new environments and may take a while to settle. We will also consider a foster to adopt situation for Sooty.
Sooty has been:
- tried with cats and loves them
- untried with children (we believe she'll be best in a home with no young children - teenagers and up should be ok)
- untried with dogs (we don't think she'll get along with them)
Sooty's adoption fee of $150 includes:
- Desexing
- Microchipping
- Vaccinations
- Flea and worming treatments to date of adoption
- Litter training
- Socialisation (she is friendly when she wants to be but is more happy to hang out with other cats)
- An adoption pack with some of her current food, a carrier blanket, a set of toys and other goodies to get her started.
Sooty is available to meet at her foster carer's home at Morphett Vale. If you're interested in meeting Sooty, please contact us with your name, a bit about your family situation, any other pets you may have, and any other information about your home that you may think is relevant.
Adoption details
Kittens and cats are adopted through their foster homes. Potential adopters are encouraged to contact Hisses to Purrs by phone, email or Facebook to arrange a meet and greet with the kitten they are interested in.
All kittens and cats are microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and parasite treated prior to adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Pre-adoptions are available for adopters who wish to adopt a specific kitten or cat who has not reached weight for desexing, or who are awaiting their vet appointment. A minimum deposit can be made to pre-adopt a kitten awaiting their vet work. Kittens and cats remain in the care of Hisses to Purrs until desexing has occurred and in the case of female kittens and cats, until 5 days after desexing to give them time to heal.
All kittens and cats adopted through us must be kept indoors or have access to a secure cat enclosure. This is non-negotiable for the safety and health of our kittens and cats.
