About Priscilla
When I first met this little sweetheart, I fell head over heels in love with her because of how cute, sweet and gentle she is. She was terrified of us and hid underneath a cabinet for several weeks. However, when you get to know her she's very cheeky and loves to play. Currently, she is incredibly timid around strangers and it takes a long time for her to warm up to people so she will need her new parent/s to be very patient with her and to give her time to trust. I believe that when she finds the right forever home, she will be the most beautiful, wonderful companion for a fellow gentle soul who loves bed cuddles and a little bit of light conversation as when she's comfortable she can be quietly conversational. I say hello to her every morning and she answers with a little “prrp!” and a head nod. If I ask her “how are you?” she will answer me, regardless of what she thinks you're saying, if shes in the mood she will converse! She loves to be talked to like a baby, and totally plays up to it if you're willing to speak like that. I've tested it by patting her, and then patting her plus saying “who's my sweet little darling?! She's very responsive and enthusiastic to that and rolls over onto her back to ask for tummy pats. Sometimes she's keen and will stretch right out for tummy time, and sometimes she's just teasing and will give you a little gentle bite (just teeth resting carefully against your skin, she's not particularly rough). She LOVES treats and I'm training her to be a lap cat by giving her a treat on my lap on the couch every night after dinner. So she's slowly getting used to settling down afterwards for a purr and a relax, but because she has trouble trusting she's always a little bit on edge. After a few years I can see her being very carefree and relaxed though, because she's already so much calmer than when she first arrived. She does not appreciate being picked up and will struggle! That's something I'm also trying to train her into enjoying, by picking her up while I'm kneeling so she's not too high from the ground. She's gone from immediately struggling with stiff little legs kicking, to gentle, relaxed legs, no heart beats, just a slight push and resistance. It's only a matter of time she will be having upstairs snuggles! Time is key for this little darling. I believe that she has probably had a traumatic experience with another cat, but I think she will thrive with a sibling cat who is equally gentle who won't attack or try to bully her. She will be wonderful with kids, provided they are sensitive and gentle with her and don't try to pick her up roughly or speak to her too loudly. Under gentle circumstances she will thrive and be the most perfect and loving cat you could ask for.
