Cassie ~ 22mo Maltese X Shih Tzu(pend.adoption 9/1

Cassie is a 22month old Maltese/Shih Tzu Cross. She weighs in at 8.5kg. She presently shares our home with a very gentle 2 year old female dog, about the same size, where they enjoy sharing beds, going for walks and playing together. She is also very happy to tag along with our sons Border Collie who visits often.

She is friendly, loyal and intelligent, and only wants to be with, and please her owners. She thrives on affection and positive, gentle conversation, and she is friendly towards strangers after a cautious meet.

She is good on the lead but can be wary of the larger breeds. I wash her in my laundry tub and she is easy to groom as her coat is very sparse at present. She came to us from a stressful environment which has resulted in some hair loss. Fortunately, after being with us for several weeks, we have seen an improvement and positive signs that her coat is returning.

She is now an indoor dog and has become house trained in only a few weeks. She sleeps inside in her crate. Our dog door is suited to the larger dog and she finds it easier to enter the house but exiting is an issue. I am sure she would master one if it was more suited to her size. There is always an open door for her to access the yard during the day.

Cassie will come when called, sit for her dinner and has just learnt to sit and shake hands. She travels very well in the car on the backseat hammock with the other dogs. We live on a lake and she has very happily experienced going out in our boat, where she is happy to go for a swim.

She is an absolute pleasure to have in our home. She is easy going and is happy to keep you company all day after enjoying her walks morning and evening. She will return your affection in bucket loads and will become an awesome part of your family.

Cassie’s adoption fee is $700. She is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms.
