People loving Staffy x are now seeking his forever home.
He is a loyal and loving 1 year old currently weighing in at 21 kilos.
Fuje (aka Fudge)
Fuje is a people loving dog who is happy to say hi to everyone he meets
He is a great deal of fun to play with and my teenagers fell in love with him.
His bed is a special blanket on the sunroom couch and he loves it when we sit next to him there to watch TV or work on laptops.
He'll roll around headbutting us and 'being' there with him.
Chasing the hose water is probably his favorite thing, he will do this until you run out of water lol
It makes for an excellent game to play when its too hot for a walk
OBEDIENCE
Fuji can sit when asked but unless you have a treat isn't always quick to respond
He walks pretty well on lead and really tried hard to please
ENRICHMENT
He will play by himself for a while in the yard, but will then sit at the back door patiently waiting.
Sometimes he'll see a dog from the car and bark loudly, especially at small dogs - its excitement.
He loves a good walk daily and one particular day we came across (I counted 25!) and he just wanted to play with all of them.
He didn't misbehave once.
He loves a good bone and certainly a game of you throw the ball and Ill think of bringing it back is another favorite
As Fuje is treat motivated a few treat toys would not go astray to netainj his when your not home would be ideal
SLEEPING
Fuje is one of those , I dont stay up all night dogs and prefer to go to bed early . If he gets over tired he will lay on the rug and compain and gets grumpy so he needs his puppy sleep and night still lol
I take him outside and stand on the grass and tell him to go do wee's - then he does!
He sleeps on his special blanket on the sunroom couch and can not enter the rest of the house.
During the day, he will sleep at my feet or nearby if I put a blanket down for him.
SOCIALIZATION
When meeting other dogs, his hackles do go up initially but he plays well with others so gentle introductions are still needed
He tends to bark when he sees a dog by surprise or it's a small dog a distance away.
Fuje in his former life was living with another large male and was beaten up a fair bit so we feel Fuje is better as an only dog in the home until he is very confident with all dogs he meets
Otherwise, he is very eager to play.
He does a lot of 'mouth play', but is very careful not to hurt.
With people he is keen to say hi and very quickly will snuggle on a couch or play.
FOOD
I give him a few handfuls of "SaviourLife" dry food.
A wedge of "Prime100" Turkey & flaxseed at dinner.
During the day I might give him a kong with more dry food, or a bone from the butcher.
He is keen, but patient when his food is being put out for him.
HYGIENE
The extreme sun is a little damaging to his pale face and nose. I use zinc cream on his nose and avoid walks in the extreme sun.
His love of water play makes it easy to wash him. A slow flow doesn't interest him much, so I can rinse the shampoo.
TRAVEL/CAR
He needs a little boost to get into the car.
He tries to stand, but after a little while sits as the car movement knocks him over too much.
IDEAL HOME
Fuje loves being with people and other dogs. but as we said we are seeking an only dog home until he is well socilased based on his former life
He will need exercise most days.
Being allowed to be in the 'main' room of a house is important, I've a blanket next to the couch so he can get pats while we watch TV.
Fuje will need a home where he is not left alone for long extended times of the day
A nice size yard for playing with plenty of shade for his nose on hot days
A home where he can be an inside outside boy
A home where he will be socialized regularly
