Darby Barnes is a small dog with an abundance of energy seeking love and companionship.

He is a loving little dog and spends most of his time curled up on someone’s knee. Any spare time he follows someone around to investigate what they are doing and hoping for a treat. He is somewhat food obsessed with separation anxiety probably because of his past history.

Toilet training is still a work in progress but he is progressing with only an occasional accident.

He would suit a home with plenty of activity and people, including older children. Not suitable for a home with children under 5 as he could knock over a small child in his excitement and even try to take food from their hands.

There is some separation anxiety, so will need to be a full time inside dog. Due to being left outside by himself, he can be quite distressed if left alone. Clearly has not met cats before as when introduced to a neighbour’s cat, he was quite terrified.

Darby Barnes loves and walks well on a lead. He has fitted in well with the resident dogs. Initially he was reactive to strange dogs but is settling down with socialisation. Further training would assist Darby Barnes to understand he is not going to be left on his own again.
