About Rubi
Hi, my name is Rubi! I am a medium sized 6 month old mixed breed and previously lived with another older dog and a family which included 3 small children.
I am quite nervous and timid, I will need time to adjust to my new home, so it may take a while for me to open up and be the happy pup I’ve always dreamed of.
Having not previously socialised with other dogs outside of my old home, I can get a little bit frightened when meeting new friends so slow introductions are best. However, once I’m comfortable I love to play! I have been learning how to wrestle everyday with one of my foster brothers. I currently live with 3 huskies and have already met other new doggies with my foster carer.
Do you love snuggles? I do too! Whenever there is a chance for a cuddle, you bet I’ll be there right beside you and being the perfect lap dog size I will make a great warmer during winter! I’m also very good at staying on my own bed at night.
Doggy doors are so cool! I’ve learnt to use one at my carers and this means I can go outside to the toilet whenever I like! Having previously not been toilet trained, I haven’t quite mastered that I should always go outside yet so I’m still having some accidents inside. I’m getting better at this though, promise!
I love food!! I like to scoff my food as quick as I possibly can! It is a race isn’t it? Be sure to be careful and not leave any food within my reach as I’ll be sure to take it, finders keepers right?
My foster carer has been making me small meals several times a day to curb my hunger and to make sure I am getting enough to eat. I also love to gnaw on frozen carrots!
My foster carer thinks I may suffer with some separation anxiety as she says I like to follow her around anywhere and everywhere! This also means that I fret a little when I’m left on my own, even for short periods. It’s so strange, because it’s these times when I’m left on my own that items around the house tend to just combust in front of my eyes! One time, the toy basket just exploded into pieces and then another time the stuffing out of the sofa all fell out! It’s scary stuff, so I’m best left in a secure place where this won’t happen.
For this reason I would be best placed in a home where I am not left for long periods during the day. It would be great if I could also have another doggy friend who can keep me company.
I’d much rather be an inside dog so I can really be part of the family and get as many cuddles as I can.
There’s a few things I still need to learn, but with the dedication of a loving family, I reckon I will develop into a great dog!
