About Venn
Venn came into care from rural NSW, so Sydney life is a lot busier than what he is used to.
His carers have been doing a great job of slowly introducing him to new places and people and he is coming along nicely. His new owners will need to be just as understanding and have the experience to socialise a dog appropriately. For this reason we won’t be looking to place him in a new home right in the centre of Sydney city, unless you can demonstrate prior experience with under socialised dogs. He is not for first time dog owners and will need a confident handler who he can trust to show him all the good things in life.
Around the house he is a dream. He is toilet trained, quiet, sleeps through the night in his crate and loves a snuggle on the lounge. He was a bit of an escape artist in his previous home before being surrendered to the rural facility, but we feel this was due to a lack of stimulation. However, due to this history we would prefer him to find a home in a unit or someone who won’t leave him unsupervised in a backyard.
Venn is dog social however can be a little intimidated of bigger or in your face type of dogs due to his very small size. He would do fine with another calm and friendly dog at home or by himself. He would like a home with someone around majority of the time as he just wants to be with his people getting lots of attention all day long. He is likely not going to be suitable for dog parks due to his small stature and slightly shy nature.
We are looking for an indoor home for Venn as he came into care with skin cancer on his tummy. We have had this removed but he will need to be kept out of the sun whenever possible and wear a light weight shirt out on walks during the day.
Venn has been in foster care on the beaches and enjoys picnics overlooking the water with his people and then going home for lots of cuddles and pats. He is very affectionate and is the perfect little couch buddy when at home. Because of his small size and slightly timid nature we will be looking for an adult only home however, he has met some children in care and has been great with them. Although untested, we feel he could live with cats with proper introductions.
Although small, Venn loves his daily outings and needs a good amount of daily exercise. He is not suited to a quiet retiree lifestyle and would prefer a more active home that took him out on lots of fun adventures.
If you feel you are the perfect home for our cute little man and can offer him all the cuddles his heart desires, fill out an adoption application found on our website as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
