About Doris
Doris is a 10 year old Border Collie x Australian Cattle girl who was rescued from a North Queensland pound after her owner passed away.
From her carer: Need a little light in your life? Doris is well-behaved, loveable, and funny. She needs a daily walk and lots of fun activities. On that walk, she will obey the rules, take little notice of other dogs, and sniff a lot of friendly butts. She loves the outdoors, but she wants company – she likes you to come too. She will fetch for you until she tires and only yells at unexpected visitors, generally leaving the rest of the neighbourhood to go about their own business.
Give her a bone and she’ll bury it, but she will dig it up later for a nibble. Ask her to take a seat or shake your hand and she will. She enjoys rolling around in various terrains – dirt, grass, sand and gets a little disappointed if you wash away her hard work. She’s not a superfan of her veggies, doesn’t like people who stomp and she’ll need a safe space when the sky gets angry.
Doris is a beautiful soul with a lot of battery left. One look into her eyes and she’ll mesmerise you.

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need Website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. My emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
Please note all our cats are indoor cats only.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
