Hi everyone! My name is Sunny, pleased to meet you! Named because I am such a bright, happy personality. I was rescued by Off The Chain after my owner was ill-prepared to raise a puppy and decided I needed a more committed home. I came into care very underweight, and terrified as I hadn't left my yard or met many people often. It took me about 2 days to settle in, and then I was way calmer and more relaxed.
Since coming into care, I have proven to be a lovely, friendly girl, who really deserves a second chance at life. I currently live with adult humans, 3 large & medium sized adult dogs, and 2 cats. I get along great with everyone here. I can be nervous around new humans when I first meet them, but will warm up, especially if you've got treats! I love to play with my toys and run around, and am used to a carer who works full time hours. I just hang out in the yard with the other dogs until they're home! I get excited when everyone is home, but I also don't mind entertaining myself while they're gone, and don't fret as long as I have another dog for company.
I currently live behind a 4ft fence and would need the same or higher with no gaps, to keep me safe. I also need a dog friend to keep me company, preferably someone older and my size or bigger who I can have fun playing with, without worrying about smooshing them. I can be a bit standoffish when I first meet a new dog as I have been beaten up in past- but within minutes you'll see me relax and learn that they mean me no harm- and once we're friends, it's play time non stop! I am a really loving, enthusiastic doggo who loves to play chase and wrestle with other dogs. I was beautifully natured at the vet clinic, and even though it was obvious I haven't had much medical care until OTC saved me, and I was a bit nervous- I still happily let them feed me treats and do what they needed.
Inside, I am a typical high-energy teenager, and will get into things if left on the ground. Currently I sleep outside at night, as I get a bit restless inside and pace the hallway- but outside I am happy to just go to sleep. We are working on building up my inside confidence, as well as my confidence in general - I am a very very fast learner, and super eager to please. I have learned come, sit, wait, and outside. If you want me to sleep inside at night, I recommend my adopter crate-train me so that I have a safe, cosy place for overnight and I can't get into any mischief. I'd be a fantastic agility or park run buddy and I LOVE to please and learn- I am definitely a dog that will impress you if you put effort into me. My exact breed mix is unknown, but we think kelpie x arab. I will likely reach 25-30kg as an adult.
So what do you think- do I sound like the match for you? If so, please apply to adopt me asap!

If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. If you follow through with adoption after your meet, the $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
Ready to roll? Then fill out the application form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
