Hi everyone! My name is Jinx, pleased to meet you! I was rescued by Off The Chain after a man found me wandering in a paddock with my sister. After a few weeks of searching for my owner/breeder, it was clear nobody was looking for me, and in fact the man who found us suspects we got dumped, like many in that area are! I was very underweight, and terrified- completely shut down.
Since coming into care though, I have proven to be a lovely, friendly girl, who really deserves a second chance at life. I currently live with adult humans, 3 large & medium sized adult dogs, and 2 cats. I get along great with everyone here but sometimes chase the cats, so maybe I would be a bit happier in a home without them. I can be a little nervous around new humans when I first meet them, but quickly warm up, especially if you've got treats! I love to play with my toys and run around, and am used to a carer who works full time hours.
I spend about 9hrs a day home alone with the other dogs, while my humans are away. I just hang out and play with them and keep myself busy. I get excited when everyone is home, but I also don't mind entertaining myself while they're gone, and don't fret as long as I have another dog for company.
I currently live behind a 4ft fence and would need the same or higher with no gaps, to keep me safe. I also need a dog friend to keep me company, preferably someone older and my size or bigger who I can have fun playing with, without worrying about smooshing them. I was beautifully natured at the vet clinic, and even though it was obvious I haven't had much medical care until OTC saved me, and I was a bit nervous- I still happily let them feed me treats and do what they needed.
Inside, I am a typical high-energy teenager, and will chew things if left on the ground. I recommend my adopter crate-train me so that I have a safe, cosy place for overnight and I can't get into any mischief. I'd be a fantastic agility or park run buddy and I LOVE to please and learn- I am definitely a dog that will impress you if you put effort into me.
So what do you think- do I sound like the match for you? If so, please apply to adopt me asap!

- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
- Enrichment, exercise and training needs of pet you are applying for
- If you have not read our adoption process below in full, please do not apply until you have.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet. We will not contact you if you do not complete the form in full AND provided the required photos of yard/fencing within 48hrs. Photos may be sent to our facebook page, or email offthechaink9rescue@outlook.com

If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. If you follow through with adoption after your meet, the $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
Ready to roll? Then fill out the application form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
