About Prue
Prue loves pats and purrs and makes biscuits even when walking while you're patting her. She loves attention but that doesn't mean that she's not playful as well! She loves her toys and will chase wand toys, balls and mouse toys around until she puffs herself out. One of her favourite pastimes is watching kitty tv, aka watching birds outside the window.
Prue is a "special needs" girl in that she was born with half a sternum. She doesn't know this though and is essentially normal in every way. Her condition means that she cannot go to a home with small children or dogs. She also cannot go outside at all. She will go home with a copy of her xray and her previous vet can be contacted for a full medical history. She doesn't require any special care beyond the above requirements and her life expectancy is the same as any other cat. She can be rehomed with teenagers who understand that she cannot be squished and picked up due to her vulnerabilities.
Prue's condition doesn't slow her down, she's essentially a normal 5-month-old kitten and gets the zoomies, plays and snuggles like any other kitten her age. She loves laps and will grow up to be the biggest lap cat you'll ever have. Prue just needs someone to look past the way she was born and give her the love she deserves.
Prue has been:
- tried with cats and loves them
- untried with children (cannot be rehomed with young children)
- untried with dogs (cannot be rehomed with them)
Prue's adoption fee of $150 includes:
- Desexing
- Microchipping
- 2x Vaccinations
- Flea and Worm treatments to date of adoption
- Litter training
- Socialisation
- An adoption pack with some of her current food, a set of toys, a carrier blanket, and other goodies to get her started.
Prue must be kept strictly indoors due to her condition. She cannot have access to a cat enclosure or the outdoors at all. This can be explained further at meet and greet appointments.
Prue can be met at her foster carer's home in Morphett Vale. If you're interested in meeting Prue, please contact us with a bit about your family situation, any other pets you may have, and any other information about your home that you may think is relevant.
Medical notes
Prue was born with half a sternum. This will not affect her life expectancy. She will be sent home with a copy of her x-ray for her new vet. Her previous vet can be contacted for a full medical history.
Adoption details
Kittens and cats are adopted through their foster homes. Potential adopters are encouraged to contact Hisses to Purrs by phone, email or Facebook to arrange a meet and greet with the kitten they are interested in.
All kittens and cats are microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and parasite treated prior to adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Pre-adoptions are available for adopters who wish to adopt a specific kitten or cat who has not reached weight for desexing, or who are awaiting their vet appointment. A minimum deposit can be made to pre-adopt a kitten awaiting their vet work. Kittens and cats remain in the care of Hisses to Purrs until desexing has occurred and in the case of female kittens and cats, until 5 days after desexing to give them time to heal.
All kittens and cats adopted through us must be kept indoors or have access to a secure cat enclosure. This is non-negotiable for the safety and health of our kittens and cats.
