About Tari
In her year at the shelter, Tari has challenged our staff to really think outside the box!
She has spent quite a bit of time in our cat enrichment room, which is where she got to know all of her new friends (the animal attendants) and we got to know Tari’s clever mind.
As a way to keep her mind challenged, she has been spending a little bit of time each day learning some agility tricks and can now recognize her floor targets, walk through a hoop (we're working up to a jump), weave in and out of her weave poles, follow a nose target stick, and go over the 'A' frame.
She spent a week in a foster home with one of our staff where she was a respectful guest who liked to sit atop the scratching post and watch the world go by out the window, but was also curious and liked to see what her humans were up to, and would make herself at home on their laps to watch some telly at the end of the day.
She has now also gotten used to walking on a harness and is absolutely loving her walks around the shelter where she enjoys eating grass in all the different exercise yards, and her current challenge is learning scent training just like a sniffer dog!
Tari has come such a long way from the cat she was when she was surrendered to Blue Cross. We can now confidently handle her, pick her up, and give her lots of pats. Although she can still have the odd bit of attitude, she is an incredibly intelligent and spirited animal who will be such a fun and rewarding companion for whoever gives her the chance.
Though we will certainly miss her when she does go, it would make all of us so incredibly happy for this spunky lady to finally find the home she is so ready for!
If you would like the pleasure of meeting our wonderful Tari, please give us a ring on 9722 1265 to make an appointment.
