Rhombus is a well behaved gentle doge, in the prime of his life!
At the ripe age of 7, Rhombus is past the stage of chewing your things, making certain messes inside, and has established a fairly independent personality. He is happy to spend time outside, basking, sniffing, and knocking around his little treat Kong. Rhombus is a lovebug, and has the very special gift of giving a solid cuddle - He will put his head under yours and completely relax.
Rhombus has had a fair amount of formal training in his previous life. He has an extensive repertoire of commands, and is a very obedient dog.
He can act like his stomach is the Mariana Trench, but setting boundaries around humans eating, and enforcing the commands he’s learned when he eats has helped to curb this behaviour. At home, Rhombus is a very low maintenance dog that's just happy to have somewhere comfy to lay, and someone to rub his exceptionally soft ears.
Although Rhombus spends most of his day in rotating sleeping positions, he isn’t exactly a couch potato, he absolutely LOVES playing Tug-of-war, and will jump for his ball; He likes anything squeaky! He will pick up on your routine, and begin to know when certain times of the day are walk, or play time.
Due to the last few years of isolation, Rhombus has developed social anxiety. he does not suit dog park lifestyle and is doing well in his intense board and train program. His new people will need to continue with strategies put in place. With that being said, even though Rhombus is a very gentle, people-dog, he would need to be in an adult-only home.
He would suit living with another submissive older dog, pending a meet.
Untested with cats.
