About Gem
Gem is a special little lady with a big personality.
She found herself in the pound at a young age and was rescued by a family who had good intentions for her, but found they could no longer offer her what she needs. She has bounds of energy and loves to play but never got the dog socialisation she needed when she was younger and now doesn’t know how to properly be a dog! She is slowly learning proper dog behaviour but will need a family who can continue the gentle training and help her overcome her social anxiety, especially on walks. She is working on being calm which is the most important step and is the hardest hurdle for her (she is just so excited about everything!).
Gem requires a home that can include her in family activities and allow her to cuddle on the couch with you at night. Due to her energy level, young kids would not be suitable due to the fact that she enjoys doing zoomies and can get a little carried away and tread on toes. Gem would suit a home with no other animals so that she can be the center of attention at all times. Someone home a lot is what she needs to help her and preferably someone who is dedicated to increasing her training. She is extremely intelligent and loves puzzle feeders and kongs to help pass the time when you are not around.
She loves going for car rides and is the most happiest when chilling next to you or even in your lap! Like a typical Staffy, she does have an on and off skin allergy and sometimes requires medication for it. Gem is house trained and can’t wait to go home with you!
Gem would love to show you how much affection she has to give, if she sounds like the perfect companion for you, please contact us.
