Hi my name is Maisy, I’m a very cute little red girl that sadly needs a new home through no fault of my own.
My owner has moved and I can’t go with him which is very sad for both of us.
I’ve never lived with children but I’m very good around children 5 years and older, obviously this would also depend on the children.
I was picked on by a big dog when I was young so I can be reactive around other dogs, I would like to go to obedience school to learn not all dogs want to pick on me.
I walk well on the lead, I know how to sit, drop, stay & my recall is good, I love the car but have sat on the foot well in the front passenger seat so I need to learn to sit harnessed in on the back seat, I love doing a lot of things such as long walks, being my people or lounging around the house watching movies all day, my favourite toys are ropes, tug of war is the best game to play, I can play for hours.
I’m scared of thunder, lightning & fireworks like a lot of dogs are, so you would need to be around if we are getting a storm & when it’s new years eve because people let those noisy fireworks off!
I had a mast skin cell tumour a few years ago but luckily it was found very early on, my owner regularly checks all over my body for any more unusual lumps when giving me rubs and pets, I like that. I’ve been all clear for a long time which is a good sign because it looks like the vet caught it early enough for it not to spread. My current vet check shows I'm in good health.
I would love to find a home with an active family, who will take me to obedience school and work on rehabilitation for dog reactivity, this is a must. My behaviour assessment went well, it was suggested that I need mental stimulation as I’m a fairly active and fit girl. I could try to escape if left too long so I need someone home a lot, especially if the weather is going to be bad. I could have a bit of separation anxiety so this needs to be worked on as well. There are training techniques to help me with this.
So if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above in return I will give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for!
Please go to Stafford Rescue Victoria’s website where you will find the Adoption Application.

Medical notes
Maisy is in good health but a few years ago had a mast cell tumour removed, they got it early so she has been all clear since.
