About Bailey
Bailey has his bursts of energy, he loves his two medium walks each day, otherwise has a couple of indoor zoomies and he will snooze the day away on his bed. At night after some sweet goodnight cuddles he is happy to spend a peaceful night on his own bed outside his foster parent’s bedroom.
Bailey is a very easy walker, comfortable on a loose lead right by your side.
Bailely loves the company of other greys on his walks but is a work in progress relaxing with strange breeds that aren’t like him. Little jumpy fluffy or yappy things are not to his liking.
Bailey has been left home alone for a couple of hours without too much drama. Bailey loves his toys, including chew toys and soft squeakies. He is a cleaver boy who enjoys puzzle toys and snuffle mats. Bailey is also a curious boy who likes to know what you are up to but he will also happily settle in the office if you are working from home.
Bailey is the champion of cuddles and will happily flop on the floor for shoulder and tummy rubs.
Bailey would be happy living as an only dog with folk who are home more often than not or with a suitable medium to large dog to keep him company.
No cat or small dog applications please.
No children under ten.
No full time workers unless working from home or there is another dog
We only consider applications who compete our Gumtree Greys online application.
When this is done we can make contact to discuss adopting a greyhound and potential suitable greys currently in foster care.
Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
